Dedicated detection for boards and flat wood materials
In the production of MDF, OSB, particleboard, and other similar materials, the presence of metal objects such as nails, screws, or metal fragments can cause serious damage to machinery and result in costly downtime. In these applications, it is not enough to simply detect such objects; the system must also continuously adapt to variations in material thickness and density.
The CASSEL Metal Shark Big PBA is designed specifically for this type of process. Its rectangular shape and low profile make it ideal for monitoring wide, relatively flat materials, which are typically transported on straight conveyor belts. The system detects both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as stainless steel, with high sensitivity across the entire inspection zone.
Automatic adaptation to product variations
A key advantage of this model is the AutoSens feature, which automatically adjusts the sensitivity based on the height of the material being inspected. In practice, this means more consistent detection when the thickness of the panel or the structure of the material changes during the process.
Built for harsh industrial environments
The rugged aluminum housing and electronics designed for harsh working conditions make this model a suitable choice for panel factories or woodworking lines. The system is self-calibrating, requires minimal maintenance, and can operate in extreme temperatures, including with extended options for very cold or very hot environments.
Monitoring, Documentation, and Integration
The Metal Shark Big PBA features intuitive menus, storage for up to 250 products, and logging of events and metal alarms. Through SHARKNET, the system can be connected to the factory network for remote monitoring, archiving, and diagnostics.
What applications is it suitable for?
- production lines for MDF, OSB, particleboard, and other panels
- applications involving wide, flat materials conveyed on a belt
- protection of machinery against screws, nails, or other metal objects
- factories that require reliable detection and documentation for quality control
