In-line detection for liquids and viscous products
In food production and other applications involving fluid or paste-like products, the detection of metallic contaminants must be performed directly in the pipeline, without interrupting the flow or compromising process hygiene. In this context, proper integration and the correct selection of the reject valve are just as important as the detector’s sensitivity.
The CASSEL Metal Shark IN Liquid is designed for such applications. The system inspects liquids and pastes in-line, such as soups, sauces, ketchup, mayonnaise, cooking oil, processed cheese, creams, toothpaste, and many others. It can also be used for certain meat products or thicker fillings.
Hygienic design and easy integration
The detector is designed for integration into standard piping systems, ranging from pumps and vacuum fillers to other product transfer systems. Its stainless steel housing, easy-to-clean components, and CIP compatibility make it ideal for environments where hygiene is essential.
Reject based on product type
A key feature of this system is the wide range of rejection valves available. Depending on viscosity, consistency, or pressure, the appropriate option can be selected—from liquid and slightly viscous products to those containing particles or highly dense materials. This ensures that contaminants are reliably rejected without adversely affecting the flow of the desired product.
Documentation, testing, and process control
The Metal Shark IN Liquid can be equipped with self-test functions, compressed air monitoring, ports for manual testing, and SHARKNET connectivity for traceability and auditing. These options are useful in environments where HACCP, IFS, or BRC standards must be clearly maintained and documented.
What applications is it suitable for?
- liquids and pastes in pipes
- sauces, creams, oils, mayonnaise, ketchup, processed cheeses
- lines where contaminated products must be automatically rejected
- applications with high hygiene and traceability requirements
